Perhaps is too early to have something like the “Silo Dinn by Martens. Special care should be taken when designing the hopper and the hopper-cylinder din 1055-6. Thak you eskerrik asko for your reply. The extra din 1055-6 margin din 1055-6 was 105-6 when using the old code is completely lost here. The exact formulas should be taken from the Eurocode. It is supposed to be based on Eurocode 1 part 4 but DIN is much more complicated, with a lot of formulae and differnet coefficients that make very difficult to structurate the calculation in some kind of din 1055-6 in order to automatize it. With no doubt din 1055-6 is the definitive guide to the design of metal silos. Michael Rotter I think it will din 1055-6 you a lot if you want to automatize calculations.

I will try to help you out. I’ve been using this code for almost a year now. I’ve calculated metal silos with the Eurocode 3 Part 4.
One thing you should know when you make calculations according the new code, is that hopper pressures are considerably smaller than in the old code, especially when storing solids din 1055-6 low wall friction.
